Shabach Enterprise: Our Brand, Our Movement, Our Mission
"Shabach" [pronounced shaw-bakh]:
To soothe, address with a loud voice, glorify and adore, to boast, to triumph, to pacify through words and calm anger.
Our Brand Shabach Enterprise is a dynamic minority-led, 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the African American community through the power of theatrical arts. Established in 2007, our commitment to equity and community engagement has broken racial barriers and fostered a diverse artistic environment that reflects the vibrancy of our society. Through our flagship series of festivals, we continue to amplify Black voices and narratives, contributing significantly to the cultural tapestry of Houston and beyond.
Our Movement Over the past decade, Shabach Enterprise has broken barriers and created opportunities through the production of over 300 African American short plays. By employing more than 700 local BIPOC artists, we’ve built a thriving, diverse creative ecosystem that celebrates the richness of our collective culture. We are a movement rooted in equity, driven by purpose, and united by our passion to transform communities through the arts.
Our Mission Shabach Enterprise is committed to advancing the African American community through theatrical arts and cultural empowerment. Our mission is to inspire, empower, and uplift African American artists and communities. Through creativity, collaboration, and dedication, we provide platforms for untold stories, foster cultural connections, and advocate for equity in the arts. We triumph through purpose, celebrate our shared humanity, and shape the future of the arts for generations to come.
DEI Policy Shabach Enterprise's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policy aligns with its mission to support African American artists and communities by providing opportunities for professional development, education, and exposure. The organization is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and diverse environment where all individuals, regardless of background, have access to resources and opportunities for artistic growth.
