Arriving in 2025
For one amazing week, Downtown Houston will Fade To Black!
Emerging from the urgent need to address the departure of Black artists seeking opportunities outside our city, Shabach Enterprise, a minority-led non-profit organization, has created a platform for prominent arts groups in the Downtown Houston district to show unified, meaningful support for the advancement of African-American artists.
In collaboration with our vibrant arts community, this festival will simultaneously showcase the diverse works of African-American performances in film, music, poetry, and theatre. It will also provide a dynamic lineup of workshops, performances, readings, screenings, and discussions to cultivate greater appreciation for diverse perspectives.

Shabach Enterprise is honored to announce that Phylicia Rashad, the iconic actor, director, and Tony Award winner, has joined the Fade To Black Arts Festival as its official ambassador.
Phylicia Rashad Joins the Fade To Black Arts Festival as its Official Ambassador
Ms. Rashad's illustrious film, television, and theater career has earned her widespread acclaim and respect. Her dedication to the arts and her influence as a cultural leader make her an invaluable asset to this festival.
Ms. Rashad has expressed her appreciation for this project, recognizing its significance in celebrating African-American artistry and heritage. Her personal connection to Houston and its cultural history adds a profound depth to her involvement. Notably, her mother, Vivian Allen, was a front-runner for a similar festival, "Arts on Main Street," in Houston fifty years ago. This legacy continues with Ms. Rashad's participation, making her role as ambassador both a tribute to her mother's pioneering spirit and a forward-looking commitment to the future of the arts in Houston.
Phylicia Rashad's endorsement of the Fade To Black Arts Festival underscores the festival's mission to elevate African American voices and create a lasting impact on Houston's cultural landscape. Her leadership and vision will be instrumental in shaping the festival's success and ensuring it becomes a landmark event in the city’s arts calendar.
We invite business owners, corporate partners, industry experts, and volunteers to join us in this transformative endeavor to revolutionize BIPOC theatre.
